Summer is flying by

I can't believe it is almost time for school to start again and seeing Target's aisles filled with Back to School stuff just blows my mind. It seems like school just let out but maybe that is because Lindsey was in summer school as well. We had a great visit with Grandma Kathy who split her time between our house and Auntie Shana's. Mom spent many days here blowing lots of bubbles, swinging at the park, playing house with the barbies, playing Candyland and much more. Grandma taught Rachel how to properly crack eggs and now she wants to make eggs all the time. I was totally impressed the first time I actually let her do it alone...Grandma is a great teacher but we all knew that. Ethan is walking now so Shana is in for lots more running around than she already does. Alison is not quite there yet but will walk holding on to stuff so I"m sure she'll take off soon. She used to be so quiet when Ethan would whack her or take her toys but now the girl fights back so lookout Ethan. Mike has been very busy at work taking on new accounts and building up the business. He also practices with his partner every Saturday (guitar and mandolin) and they are doing wedding, parties etc. He is having the time of his life.

I of course waited very impatiently for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to be released and as soon as I got it I started reading until I was finished except to go to the bathroom. I love it and what a great end to the story of Harry and his friends. I have a personal trainer now and just love working out with him. I will be having surgery next month on my achillies so I will be working from home as I can't drive for a couple of months. This blog will probably be filled all the time as I will be laying on the couch bored for quite a while.

Better sign off and go watch a movie with the kids.

Too Funny

Last night I asked Rachel what she wanted to be when she grew up and her answer was, "A mature adult who works at Dairy Queen". I love it.

I haven't written in a long time and have lots to tell everyone..will post this weekend.

Back to Work

Well I have been on vacation since the 4th and it was so nice and is really hard to come back to work. However this will be a short week and then we are in Whistler the week following for our sales meeting. Alison and Ethan were blessed at Northlake Unitarian yesterday and it was wonderful. They were very good through the whole thing and Ethan spit the whole time anyone was saying anything serious so it was very funny. I read them a story after Shana told her long quest to get pregnant. The BBQ at their house afterwards was very yummy.

New Hair

Well I am on vacation and totally relaxing which is great. Tomorrow I am just going to run errands and do some things around the house that I have wanted to get done. Rachel got her first big girl haircut and Alison got one too. Lindsey started summer school and Boo is having a ball with her grandma.

Fireworks

Happy 4th of July to all! Mike is sleeping, Lindsey is doing her laundry and Rachel is watching a cartoon. We are going to hang out at home and watch the fireworks in our neighborhood as it becomes a war zone.

Spring Cleaning

I think today I will change Rachel's room around & pack up some more bags for Goodwill. It might not be a bad idea to clean out the hall closet and mine as well. Today is my short day and of course I will allow myself a nap but I really want to get this stuff done. I think Mike and I are going to the movies tonight.

Reminder that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opens in 13 days.

Today is a beautiful day to drive to Deception Pass

Under the Sea

Well Rachel was reading Mike and I a bedtime story last night about Aerial, Sebastian, King Triton and then she was talking about Atlantis. I asked her what Atlantis was and she stated it was where King Triton was from. I told her it was an underground city and that I once lived there a long time ago. I mentioned that I had gills, fins and I swam under the sea until one day I peeked my head above the water and saw dad. He offered me ice cream and whose gonna say no to mocha almond fudge so I came on land and we lived happily ever after. At that point I started to smile and Rachel said , "it is not true mommy". I told her it was and that when she turned 10 she could have gills and live in Atlantis as well if she wanted to. She started to cry and said, "I don't want to go live under the sea". Oh I think sometimes I have too much fun.

Democrats 2008

Please get our current President out of the office. Every single day you hear about more US troops being killed and it is senseless. I like Joe Biden.

Tons of Music

I am very excited as my Ipod will soon be filled with tons of music. I have had this 30G Ipod at home since the end of January and I finally took it out of the box a month or two ago. I asked Mike to put some music on it and he downloaded a file with Lindsey's music that I don't really like. However, I called my friend Douglas in Chicago as I heard through the grapevine that he has a huge collection of music. Douglas emailed me software and his playlist which has 25 thousand songs. I highlighted all the music I wanted and he burned DVD's for me. They will be arriving via FedEx today. So, I will have between 8 to10 thousand songs on my Ipod....I can't wait to have my music.
Is is Friday yet????

Do you like puzzles

Well I am certainly a crossword puzzle fan and I am a pro at word searches. Last night I tested my skills with the Disney princesses and characters. Rachel and I laid in my bed finding all the objects in beautiful pictures of Ariel, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and the gang. It was so much fun and really made me realize that the simple things in life are those that make me the happiest.

The Playoffs

The Spurs won and I am happy about that. Will be leaving work in a few hours and picking up the babies & Rachel. It's raining this morning and that reflects my mood. I would love for this day to stay cool and cloudy. Sheh's coming over tomorrow morning so we can go for coffee, take Boo to the park and watch a Harry Potter movie.

80's Trivia

Okay..here are my trivia questions for the day...think back to the carefree 80's where big hair and leg warmers were cool. These are easy.
Movies:
"Where is your dope Bender? In Johnson's underpants sir"

"Jewels has gone mad..she's locked herself in the apartment and she won't let me in"

"Where is my automobile, automobile?...Lake..big Lake"

Music:

Name the band and the one hit wonder they sang..The song has the word cum in it. That's the only clue I am giving.

Have a good day everyone!!!!

Cartoons

Well my friend Denise bought the She-ra DVD (some of you might remember her) and now Rachel runs around with her hand raised shouting...I am Shera, princess of power...by the power of greyskull. It is amusing and it makes me think back to good ole cartoons when I was a kid. Loved the smurfs, pink panther, Jetsons and I loved the Land of the Lost. "Will, Holly-have you seen my giant strawberry the size of a basketball?"...maybe the dinosaurs have it ...or even worse-the sleestacks!!!!

UUGGGHHH

The Starbucks I went to wasn't open this morning before I had to be at work...I want some coffee as soon as possible. Today I get my stitches out, it's almost the weekend and I desperately need to go to Target.

Lack of Sleep

If there is one thing that I am very bad about it would be getting enough sleep to make it through the day without feeling like taking a nap wherever possible. It is one of those things that I have discussed with my doctor and needs to be a priority in my life. However, this is not working out very well for me. One of the problems is that my shift at work starts at 5 which means I have to be up at 3:30 & sometimes have to drop Rachel off at Denise's in the AM. I used to do that everyday but Mike is working in Lynnwood now so it is easier for him to do it. Secondly, I spend a lot time in the afternoon in stop and go traffic which makes it worse. It actually scares me sometimes that I will fall asleep driving. Mike doesn't get home at night until at least 7:30, then dinner, news time etc and before you know it the clock hits ten. By that time I usually try to get upstairs but don't usually fall asleep until closer to 11...now this just doesn't cut it for good sleep. I have to admit that I love the weekends because 8 hours of sleep is like a luxury for me. I have to make changes so my body will feel happy and rested.

My Dancers

The girls had dance class tonight and they got to bring their costumes home. I took lots of pictures as I have posted some as well. Rachel will be doing a ballet and tap dance. Lindsey will be performing a fun dance with her hip hop group. They are very excited about the upcoming recital and their professional pictures will be taken this Saturday. The performance is on Saturday June 23rd.

So Muggy!!

Well it rained some last night and was sprinkling on the way to work this morning. I know it is going to be cooler today with rain showers but right now it feels like a sauna. As a matter of fact it feels quite disgusting sitting at my desk in the building. It is really hot in here and hopefully that will change within the next couple of hours. Mike and I went to bed around 10 last night and we couldn't sleep so I checked on Rachel about 11. She was wide awake and watching a movie in Lindsey's room. We had a midnight snack (at 11:15) and I put her in bed. She was back in my room with 15 minutes but I managed to get her back to bed with the bathroom light on so she wasn't scared. Today will be a long tired day and tonight the girls have dance. They get their costumes to bring home so that is exciting.

Rachel loves the park

It's Saturday morning, I have had my workout, kids are fed, Mike is playing the guitar with Joe today and Lindsey is helping Joe's girlfriend groom dogs. Rachel and I are leaving in a few mintues to head to the park in Everett with her friend Aysha. Aysha's mom and I are taking them to McDonalds after their fun day. Later Mike, Lindsey, Rachel and I are babysitting for Ethan and Alison as Shana and Delano will be going to see Harry Connick Jr tonight. I get to see the babies a lot more than Mike does so he is excited about taking care of them tonight. Should be another warm day in Seattle but next week it is cooling down into the sixties...I like it when it is sunny but a little cool.

Okay..I found a mocha I didn't like

Well I stopped at Starbucks on my way to work today...big surprise. I thought I would try the orange mocha they advertise and that was a big mistake. I took two drinks of it and that was enough as it was very gross. I threw it out-yes I said I threw out a Starbucks.
This morning we have a meeting with Lindsey's school counselor as she will be attending summer school due to her poor grades throughout the year. She is not happy about this but she has to learn that school is not playtime.
Rachel and I are meeting my dear friend Dave this morning for a visit and coffee (don't get an orange mocha) and I'm really looking foward to it. Other than that I will workout and make it a lazy day. Happy Friday to all!!!!
