I had acupuncture on my achilles yesterday morning so it feels great today. The needles for my achilles injury are inserted across the bottom part of the palm of my hand...weird huh?

Mom got in last night so the kids are excited to see her later when we all go to Shana's.

The anticipation is over!!

We celebrated four Christmas's, the kids are happy, everyone had fun & enjoyed the family so Mike and I are now pooped. Today I took down all the decorations and our house looks normal again. We had our decorations up for a long time and it was time to get things back business as usual. I will be working a short week this week and Grandma is coming so Rachel is sooo excited. Looking forward to our anniversary trip next week.

Christmas Program Night

Mrs. VanWinkle's class did a wonderful program and the kids did just great. Afterwards we all came back here as you can see the herd was waiting to be let in. Then Dean, Lindsey and Sierra polished off one of the Christmas baskets we received...I'm surprised they didn't puke

A couple of weeks ago Mike and I went to Lowe's looking for a mantle but they were very expensive. So, we found a kit where you build the mantle yourself and Mike went to town. What's going on around our house.

Man this year has flown by and Christmas is just around the corner. Rachel has a birthday party on Saturday and Lindsey has an overnight party on Saturday. Friday Mike and I are going to my company Christmas party. Saturday night Mike and I are going to hear his friend speak and then maybe a hour out for coffee or a walk along the water front with no children. We like to walk along the waterfront in Everett and especially Seattle. At Christmas time they put lights on the ferries so it looks cool to see them going back and forth to the Olympic Penisula area. Sunday we will get our tree and decorate. Wishing mom and Uncle Ryan would be with us on Christmas as we miss them so much. Shana is having a cookie exchange on Sunday the 16th and then she will be coming over to our house the next weekend to exchange gifts for the kids and make my mom's famous Gingerbread men(anatomically correct of course). Rachel's class goes this Friday morning to see the Nutcracker as they do a one hour version for the kiddo's. We are doing a white elephant gift party with the neighbors on Christmas Eve so I have to find some really sick stuff around my house...probably won't be a problem.

Change in Diagnosis

Ryan is home and I talked with him last night. He seems in good spirits but is worried about his school work. Doctors found a virus and say now that it is viral meningitis and not bacterial which is better. He has to go back for a follow up next week since they had still run a few more tests.

New Update on Ryan

Ryan has bacterial meningitis and is currently still in the hospital on strong antibiotics. This can be very serious and he has to do nothing but rest and take the medicine. I think they will be letting him go home today(after an EKG) and my mom will be going over tonight.

Update on Ryan

As of last night the doctors were still running more tests and not quite sure. The MRI came back fine and so they think it is possilby viral meningitis (treating him as such now) or Rocky Mountain Tick Disease. I guess that test is very expensive (Ryan doesn't have insurance) so they are holding out but may do that if necessary. If he is released today then my mom will be going to Fayetteville to stay with him for a couple of days. Hope to have some answers soon.

Prayers for my brother

Ryan has been having pain, numbness, severe migranes and vomiting. He had a cat scan last week and on the way to the doctor yesterday he had another episode and was sent directly to the hospital. He spent the night last night and hopefully will be released today with some answers. The cat scan apparently looked fine so last night they did a spinal tap and MRI. I will find out more from my mom today.

Mt. Rainier

When you fly out of Seattle (depending on where you are going) the pilot will ask you to look out the window to see Mt. Rainier. It is lovely to look at from the ground but I swear it looks as if you are going to crash right into it from the air.

Update on Uncle Ryan and Grandma Kathy

Well my brother is turning Chinese. HA HA He has been studying Chinese, eating Chinese, hanging out with Chinese people and going to Chinese socials. He is leaving next year to student teach in China and is so excited. When he returns to the US he will be looking for a history teaching job. He tells me Chinese words over the phone and has me repeat them...I suck at it. I am so proud of him and can't wait to hear all the stories when he returns. My mom is teaching like a mad woman as she always does and living on the mountiain with Rem. She misses her little grandkids but will be flying out to Seattle on Dec. 27 to spend a week with us. We can't wait!!

Toilet Paper and such

Lame ass thin good for nothing toilet paper annoys me. Work is the worst as you have these giant rolls hidden up in the black hole connected to the wall. You have to stick your hand half way up the thing and the roll is so heavy it just breaks when you pull it anyway.
Also, the toilets and sinks are all automatic so now when I walk up to my sink at home and the water doesn't come in it really ticks me off.

So Gross!

Does anyone else have teenagers that are so lazy they will just wear dirty laundry. I have to hound Lindsey to wash her clothes and I've noticed she has been wearing the same pair of jeans to school everyday for three weeks and hasn't done laundry until tonight. She refuses to wear the other pairs we bought during school shopping because she says they are too big. They are fine but they just don't suck her legs and butt like she wants them to. Friday she told us she has a new boyfriend...I hope he smells her jeans.

Our Home

Okay, more than anything I love being at home. I love my house clean and I am very into all different kinds of good smelling soy candles which I have all over the house. Slave Driver

Today I got the kids up early and got them busy cleaning. I have a whole list of things for them to do that will keep them busy for a long time. It is only going to be 54 today so they can stay inside and help mom. I started them with the car which is quite clean and smells fresh.

Just got interrupted by a phone call from a gal doing a survey for the 2008 election. All of my answers were democratic and George Bush needs to be out of the office asap if you ask me.
