Kitchen issues

I have not been cooking much lately. I think the kids are really sick of mac n cheese, soup, turkey sanchwiches, etc. My goal in the next few weeks is to spend some extra time and prepare good healthy meals for dinner. Life has been a little crazy so we have gotten off track. For me I have either been eating a quick snack for dinner or using my go to meals of cereal or soy sausage and egg whites.

Nothing much to say today. Just ate breakfast of egg whites, whole wheat english muffin and a piece of soy sausage.
Now I'm just going through emails and prioritizing my day.

My Day

I have offically gotten my five year old wanting to go out to eat at Thai restaurants. She loves it and Lindsey does to. It's much healthier than going to a Chinese restaurant, nothing is fried and no MSG. This afternoon the girls and I did a little shopping and tried out a new Thai place which was great. Then we all painted our nails, put on pj's, washed our faces and Lindsey and I coated ourselves with self tanner. Now we are going to watch a movie.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend..today it is going to be nice in Seattle so we can enjoy it.

Shopping without children

This is something I never get to do but I did last night. It was wonderful, peaceful, I could pee when I wanted to, take as much time in the dressing room, walk at my own pace, wasn't looking behind me or beside me all the time. It won't happen very often but it sure was fun.

Our car

Well Mike swerved to not hit a dog last week and smacked into a telephone pole. Us southerners do not swerve for animals. I have hit every animal lurking in the Ozark mountains from the smell of skunk lingering on my tires for days to large wads of deer fur imbedded into the front of my old Datsun.


Anyway, spent last night looking at used cars and contacting private parties etc since the Avalon was totaled. We decided on this 2003 Civic. It is just fine and as long as I feel safe and get good gas mileage I don't really care what I drive. 35 to 40 mpg is way different that the van.

Auntie Barb had a layover in Seattle so we got to spend the morning with her

Sweet Story

My mom and I were talking yesterday and apparently my Aunt Barb (mom's sister) called her on Monday to tell her what had happened on Mother's Day. My aunt is a flight attendent for American Airlines and was flying on Mother's Day. I guess due to plane troubles or something she ended up flying to San Francisco which was not where she was supposed to go that day. So, when they arrived there were all kinds of delays etc. My Grandma Johnson (who passed years ago) is from San Francisco and that is where she met my grandpa. So while Barb was sitting there she thought.."Happy Mother's Day mom..I'm in your city". When the plane finally boarded Barb was asked to check on one of the passengers as they thought someone boarded the plane without a boarding pass. She indicated to my mother that in ten years of flying this was only the second time she had be asked to check out something like this. When they handed her the name of the passenger to check. the boarding pass read..Mary Johnson. Mary Johnson was my grandmother's name.

American Idol

Cook sits in the number one spot with DialIdol. I think the Castro fans are voting for him now. Syesha will go home tonight and the David's will duke it out next week. I have no doubt who will win. All the comments I read today are raving about DC..people love him.

Misc.

Had another six month checkup with dermatologist. Had one spot removed and it was benign . Now I am on the yearly schedule unless something strange appears.

It will be 84 in Seattle on Friday...woo hoo

My purse is a mess

I have been putting raw foods back into my diet and now am able to eat broccoli , salads etc. Yesterday I tried something I love but NO WAY ..NEVER AGAIN. I had trial mix with dried fruit, seeds & nuts. I cannot disgest it..what a bunch of crap

I've been sneezing like mad this morning.
